We source premium East Asian teas and pair them with tried and tested recipes so you can make cafe-worthy drinks at home. We believe the best cup isn't always the one you order — it's the one you make yourself. Every tea we craft is an invitation to slow down, experiment, and make it your own.

Based in Sydney, to the world.
It started with a craving we couldn't satisfy. We wanted milk tea at home — the kind that actually tastes like what you get from milk tea shops. Not a watered-down version made with a supermarket teabag.
So we started making it ourselves. Sourcing from Fujian, testing recipes until our kitchens looked like crime scenes. Figuring out how to bring East Asian flavours into the way we drink beverages now.
CHAWU is what came out of that.
Lucy — Co-founder. Runs operations and supply. Evangelist for cold brew milk tea, steeped overnight in milk, with a dash of syrup. There's always tea steeping in her fridge.
Amanda — Co-founder. Runs design and brand. Still testing new flavour recipes at midnight (her countertops have not recovered). Will not make a drink without bringing out the big camera and filming the whole process. Evan, Shovel - Tech-ristas. Keeps the website running and the tea flowing.

We love getting out of the kitchen and into the community. Throughout the year, CHAWU partners with local creators and cafes to host events and pop-ups. Come try the teas in person, meet the people behind the blends, and maybe discover a new daily ritual.
